Gene Slay’s Girls & Boys Club is an exciting place to meet new friends and have fun. Open to kids ages 6 to 18, members can participate in sports, activities, crafts, and games.

After School Program

Program Information

Time: 2:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Cost: $25 for August 16, 2017 – December 20, 2017

GSGBC is open to youth ages 6 to 18. Girls must be in 1st-5th grades.

The cost of After-School membership is only $60 for an entire year! Winter Break and Spring Break hours will vary. Fliers will be distributed and hours will be posted on the website and Facebook.

Required for membership:

  • Completed membership application
  • Birth Certificate (for 6 and 7 year olds)
  • Most recent report card
  • Shot/immunization record
  • Signed policies acknowledgement
  • Permission to test letter (6 – 12 year olds)
  • Special Care Plan (Asthma Plan, IEP, etc.)
  • Record of allergies- GSBC serves snack and a full meal daily
  • Licensing agreement form
  • Other forms may be required

Summer Program

Program Information

STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, & Math) Program

Dates: June 5th – July 28th

*The Club will be closed Tuesday, July 4th in celebration of Independence Day

Summer Learning Loss and Athletic and Aquatic Workshops (5 weeks):

Meals provided: Breakfast (8:45 – 9:25) and Lunch (12:30 – 2:00)

Two forty-minute workshops per week in the areas of Reading, Writing, Math, and Science
Individual and web-based literacy tutoring available to youth who have completed grades 1-5 and are in dire need of extra support
Daily swimming lessons with certified Life Guards
Sports, Fitness, and Recreation (including basketball)
Character and Social Skills Development
The Arts

Who can attend:
Boys & Girls who are at least 6 years old and have completed kindergarten through 6th grade.
Kids who have not yet COMPLETED kindergarten are NOT allowed to attend

Cost (for the whole Summer): $60.00

Early Drop-Off fee: for an additional $160/child, parents can drop off their child between 7:15AM-8:45AM. This fee may be paid through two $80 payments. The first $80 is due by the first day of camp or before the first day the child attends. The remaining $80 must be paid by July 3rd. Failure to pay second half will result in child’s expulsion from early drop off and a $10.00 fine.

Hours of Operation varies by grade level:

COMPLETED Grades 1 – 6:
– May attend ALL DAY
– Meals provided: Breakfast (8:45 – 9:25) and Lunch (12:30 – 2:00)
– Hours of Operation: 8:45am – 5:30pm
Please Note: During the five weeks of academic programming (June 15th-July17th) members must be dropped off BEFORE 9:15 or they will not be allowed to enter until 12:30pm

COMPLETED Grades 7-8:
Cost is $60.00 (dropping off youth early or having them loitering in front of building will result in automatic expulsion)
Hours of Operation: 12:30pm – 5:30pm

Late Pick-Up Fines:
The first time a child is picked up between 5:30 – 5:45, the parent is to receive a warning
The second time, the parent will be fined $15.00
The Club reserves the right to fine a parent up to $75 for picking up a child after 5:45
Fines must be paid within 2 business days. Failure to do so will result in youth’s expulsion from program until fine is paid
The Club is willing to work with parents when special circumstances prevent them from picking their children up on time (ex. car crash). In these types of situations, parents should notify the Club of the situation as soon as possible. This cannot be a regular occurrence.

Required documents: In addition to payment, the following documents are required before your child can start attending the Summer Program

Current 2017 After-School Members:

  • Abridged Membership Application
  • Signed policies acknowledgment
  • Most recent report card

Non-Current Members:

  • Full membership application
  • Signed policies acknowledgement
  • Signed Permission to Test form (or express that you do not want your child to be tested)
  • Copy of recent Report Card or Progress Report
  • Birth Certificate (required only for those who just completed 1st and 2nd grade)

If a child has asthma or severe allergies , parents must provide us with an inhaler or epipen before that child can attend.  They can bring it the first day the child attends.
